Duties
- Supervise daily shop operations, including opening, closing, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
- Lead and motivate a team of staff and volunteers, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a positive work environment
- Manage sales transactions efficiently, ensuring accurate cash handling and adherence to phone etiquette
- Oversee merchandising efforts by organizing displays, pricing items appropriately, and maintaining visual appeal to attract customers
- Monitor stock levels, coordinate donations, and implement inventory management procedures to optimize sales opportunities
- Develop effective communication channels within the team and with customers to enhance service quality
- Maintain administrative records such as sales reports, volunteer schedules, and donation logs with strong organizational skills
Requirements
- Proven management or supervisory experience in retail or similar customer-facing roles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and foster teamwork
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable for diverse community engagement
- Previous experience in retail management or sales management is preferred
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and administrative tasks
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks effectively
- Experience supervising volunteers or managing team dynamics is advantageous
- Multilingual or bilingual proficiency enhances communication with diverse community members
