Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner Room Leader to oversee daily operations within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for early childhood education, and extensive experience working with children. As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of practitioners, ensuring high standards of care and education, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of nursery practitioners, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and health and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones.
- Foster effective communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
- Support the induction and ongoing training of staff members to uphold high standards of childcare practice.
- Manage daily operational tasks within the room to ensure smooth running of activities and routines.
Requirements
- Experience within a childcare or nursery setting, with strong leadership capabilities.
- Extensive experience working directly with children in early childhood education or childcare environments.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding procedures, and best practices in early years education.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively liaise with staff and parents.
- Childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent are essential; additional leadership qualifications are advantageous.
- Ability to motivate and inspire team members while maintaining a positive working environment.
