Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and responsible Level 3 Lunch Cover staff member to join our team. This role involves supervising children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety, engagement, and well-being while promoting positive behavior. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience working with children, and a commitment to creating a nurturing environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to early childhood education in a dynamic setting.
Duties
- Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Engage children in positive activities and encourage social interaction during meal times.
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, adhering to hygiene standards and dietary requirements.
- Support children in developing good manners and independence skills related to eating.
- Maintain a clean and organized lunch area, following health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, children, and parents regarding children's needs and behavior.
- Support the wider nursery team in maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in childcare, nursery, or early childhood education settings.
- Capable of supervising groups of children confidently.
- Knowledge of childcare practices, health & safety standards, and hygiene protocols.
- Excellent communication skills
- Childcare qualifications at Level 3 or equivalent are essential.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs is desirable.
