Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker (Community) to provide essential care and assistance to female clients within the community. This paid role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities, health management, and emotional well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Provide patient care including medication administration, health monitoring, and basic nursing support tailored to individual needs.
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional requirements are met while respecting dietary restrictions.
- Engage in behavior management strategies to support clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive challenges.
- Drive clients to appointments or errands safely and responsibly, maintaining vehicle safety protocols at all times.
- Document care activities accurately in client records and report any changes in health or behavior promptly to supervisors.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care practices including medication administration and first aid certification.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility or transfers.
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record for transportation duties.
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients’ emotional and physical needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
