We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 Milk Tanker Driver to work on a rolling 4 on 4 off basis so this will include weekends. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of dairy products, ensuring timely deliveries to various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to road regulations, and excellent driving skills. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dedicated logistics environment, supporting the smooth distribution of essential products.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 milk tanker lorries in accordance with all road safety and company policies.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload dairy products at designated sites, ensuring proper handling and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Comply with all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation of goods.
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management.
- Assist with loading and unloading as necessary, including handling flatbed trailers if required.
- Must be willing to work on a rolling 4 on 4 shift pattern.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with delivery vehicles or lorries.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting dairy or similar products.
- Experience with mil tanker is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to plan routes effectively and adapt to changing schedules.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail for record keeping and vehicle inspections.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high safety standards throughout all operations.
Pay: £170.00-£200.00 per day
