Freelance BSL Communication Support Workers (CSWs) – Regular & Cover Work
Assigned Interpreting Ltd is looking for reliable and experienced Freelance British Sign Language (BSL) Communication Support Workers to support Deaf clients across London and surrounding areas.
We are currently recruiting for regular ongoing placements in Harpenden and the Kings Road area of London, as well as additional CSWs who are interested in flexible ad-hoc cover opportunities with our other clients.
About the Role
As a Communication Support Worker, you will provide BSL communication support to Deaf clients within their workplace, helping them communicate effectively with colleagues, managers and customers and ensuring they have equal access to workplace communication.
We have a mixture of regular weekly placements and flexible cover opportunities, making these roles suitable both for freelancers looking for consistent weekly hours and those wanting additional work alongside their existing commitments.
Our placements are varied and may include retail, office and other professional workplace environments.
Current Opportunities
Harpenden – Regular ongoing work
We are looking for a CSW who can commit to regular weekly shifts supporting a Deaf client in Harpenden. The regular timetable includes weekend shifts, so applicants must have some weekend availability and be able to commit consistently to the agreed hours.
Kings Road area, London – Regular ongoing work
We are also recruiting for regular weekly support for a Deaf client based in the Kings Road area.
London & surrounding areas – Flexible cover work
We would also love to hear from CSWs who may not be able to commit to a regular timetable but are interested in flexible and occasional work across our wider client base.
Availability for daytime, evening and weekend work is particularly useful.

What We're Looking For
- Minimum BSL Level 3 qualification
- Strong BSL communication skills
- Professional and confident within workplace environments
- Reliable, punctual and committed
- Good communication with both clients and the agency
- Previous experience supporting Deaf people in the workplace is desirable
