Contract: Zero-hours contract (typically around 30 hours per week)
Apex Lounge & Sports Bar is looking for a reliable, confident and responsible Bar Supervisor to join our team.
This is a position of trust and responsibility. You'll often be responsible for running the venue independently, so we're looking for someone who is capable of working alone, making sensible decisions, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the venue.
- Supervising the day-to-day operation of the bar.
- Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with licensing laws.
- Delivering excellent customer service.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the venue.
- Handling cash and card transactions accurately.
- Monitoring customer behaviour and ensuring compliance with licensing laws.
- Managing stock and reporting any issues.
- Carrying out routine maintenance and care of our pool tables, including brushing and cleaning the cloths, replacing tips where required, checking cues and balls, and ensuring all equipment is kept in excellent condition.
- Dealing professionally with customer enquiries and any incidents that arise.
What We're Looking For
- A reliable, trustworthy and responsible individual.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for the venue when working alone.
- Able to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and other unsociable hours.
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean, tidy and well-presented venue.
- Willing to learn the routine maintenance required to keep our pool tables and equipment in excellent condition.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Previous experience in a bar or hospitality environment is preferred, with supervisory experience an advantage.
- A personal licence is desirable but not essential.
Essential Requirements
- Applicants must be aged 18 or over due to licensing laws relating to the sale of alcohol.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to deal with situations calmly and professionally.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards.
What We Offer
- £14 per hour.
- A zero-hours contract, with an expectation of around 30 hours per week (although hours cannot be guaranteed).
- A friendly and supportive working environment.
- Full training, including pool table maintenance where required.
- Opportunities for training and future progression as the business grows.
If you're looking for a role where you can take responsibility, enjoy working with people, and be part of an exciting sports bar environment, we'd love to hear from you.
