About the RoleA highly successful manufacturing business in Belfast is seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Technician. You will join a skilled engineering team responsible for ensuring maximum plant uptime and equipment efficiency. This role involves a mix of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and rapid breakdown response in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Breakdown Response: Fault-find and repair mechanical and electrical faults on automated production machinery.
- Planned Maintenance: Execute scheduled PPM routines to minimize downtime and ensure asset reliability.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist with machinery installations, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, maintaining clean and safe work areas.
- Documentation: Log all maintenance activities and parts used accurately on the CMMS system.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Time-served apprenticeship with a relevant NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, or heavy industrial environment.
- Skills: Strong multi-skilled ability (both mechanical and electrical) with fault-finding experience on PLC systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern (continental or days/nights split).
