Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen assistants
- Manage food production processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality meals
- Oversee food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kitchen
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation effectively
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in organising special events or banquets as required
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive food production and culinary expertise across diverse cuisines
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Proficient in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Solid kitchen experience with a comprehensive understanding of food safety standards
- Excellent leadership qualities combined with organisational abilities
- Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service excellence
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
