We are looking for a friendly and reliable Shop Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our shop. The role includes serving customers, preparing baked goods for sale, and assisting with wholesale orders, while maintaining a clean and welcoming shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers and providing friendly, helpful service
- Operating the till and handling cash/card payments
- Slicing, packaging, and labelling baked goods
- Preparing and completing wholesale orders accurately and on time
- Restocking shelves and arranging displays
- Keeping the shop, preparation areas, and equipment clean and tidy
- Assisting customers with product questions and orders
- Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures
- Opening and closing the shop when required
Skill and Qualifications:
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail, especially for packaging and orders
- Basic maths skills for cash handling
- Retail or food handling experience preferred but not essential (training provided)
Hours of Work
- Part-time
- Working days and hours to be agreed
- This role requires consistent daytime availability during the working week/weekend and is therefore not suitable for students in full-time education.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
