About the role
Join LFC Foundation and play a key role in developing the next generation of female footballers. As the Girls Academy U12 Strength & Conditioning Coach, you will create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment where players can develop physically, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of the game. Working within the Academy programme, you'll deliver high-quality coaching, provide individualised support, and help cultivate a positive, player-centred culture.
We're looking for someone with experience supporting young athletes, ideally within a football environment, and a strong understanding of youth physical and psychological development. The successful candidate will be innovative, adaptable, player-focused, and committed to safeguarding best practices, with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
What you will be doing?

Contribute to the LFCW Academy blueprint / curriculum ensuring there is S&C provision which complements the football programme.
- Deliver – or oversee the delivery of – the U12’s Girls Academy physical development programme, including:

Design and deliver individualised athletic development programmes as well as group training sessions

Provide injury rehabilitation training of players as directed by the physiotherapist/sports therapist, in preparation for return to training.

Work with Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist to develop and support an activation / prehab programme

Manage facilities and equipment within the ETC so that it is well maintained and safe to use

Maintain a comprehensive database of work conducted with athletes and coaches. Keep records which meet the standard required by The FA and the appropriate professional bodies

Communicate with parents in the event of S&C related queries, generally and specifically to their children. Educate parents with regard to their role in supporting physical development, injury prevention, injury care, recovery, diet and other factors relating to lifestyle away from the Academy.
Other responsibilities

Advise and direct other staff on the needs of players.

Attend case management meetings and provide professional opinion

Educate coaches on the S&C provision and embedding physical outcomes within technical sessions

Work with the LFC Foundations Safeguarding Manager to ensure that the wellbeing and welfare of all players and staff is always an operational priority
Who we are looking for?
-
BSc in Sport Science or a related discipline.
-
UKSCA or ASCC accreditation, or evidence of actively working towards accreditation.
-
FA DBS, FA Safeguarding Children, and FA Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or equivalent First Aid qualification.

Experience applying Strength & Conditioning principles within a team sport environment, ideally with exposure to girls' and women's football.

Knowledge of physical development, load monitoring (including GPS and heart rate monitoring), recovery strategies, and injury prevention.

Experience delivering individual and group physical development programmes for children and adolescent female athletes.

Up-to-date understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures.

MSc in Strength & Conditioning or a related postgraduate qualification (completed or in progress).

Additional recognised S&C qualifications (e.g. NSCA, BWLA, FA Level 3).

BASES Accredited Sports Scientist status.

Commitment to ongoing professional development, particularly in:
-
Youth female player development, growth and maturation, and female athlete physiology.

Talent identification and talent development.
-
Football coaching qualifications (e.g. UEFA C).
-
Athlete lifestyle and player support.
-
Coaching and mentoring qualifications.
This is a casual contract position, working variable hours across the week including evening, weekends and public holidays.
Based at the LFC Academy, with travel to local venues across Merseyside for fixtures and events.
