Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dog Grooming Assistant to join our professional pet care team. This role involves supporting groomers in delivering high-quality grooming services while ensuring the safety and comfort of our canine clients. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care, possess excellent customer service skills, and be eager to learn and develop within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities
- Assisting groomers with bathing, drying, brushing, and trimming of dogs according to client specifications
- Handling dogs safely and gently to minimise stress and ensure their wellbeing during grooming procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of grooming tools and work areas
- Supporting with dog restraint and positioning during grooming sessions
- Providing basic animal care, including feeding or administering medication if required (training provided)
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times
- Interacting professionally with clients, answering questions, and providing exceptional customer service
- Assisting with heavy lifting of equipment or larger animals when necessary
Experience
- Previous veterinary experience or animal care background is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for specific grooming tasks
- Experience working with animals, particularly dogs, is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Passion for animal welfare and a genuine interest in pet grooming industry development

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
