Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Children’s Support Workers to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting the wellbeing, safety and development of children with autism, learning disabilities and behaviours that may challenge.
The role involves providing professional, person-centred care and support, helping children with daily routines and activities, promoting independence and ensuring a safe and positive environment at all times.
Key duties include supporting children with daily living tasks, safeguarding, administering medication, maintaining accurate records and encouraging engagement in meaningful activities that enhance quality of life.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support children with daily routines, including morning and evening routines.
- Administer medication in line with policies and procedures.
- Build positive relationships and engage children in activities and opportunities that support their wellbeing and development.
- Promote independence, choice and dignity at all times.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Work in line with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain professional boundaries and a positive working approach.
- Undertake training and continuous professional development relevant to the role.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to provide high-quality care and support.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a similar support or care role.
- A proactive and positive approach to working within a challenging environment.
- An understanding of medical, cognitive and mental health conditions affecting children and young people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional and compassionate under pressure.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Full UK Driving Licence (desirable).
Pay
£13.50 – £15.00 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
