GCSE Home Education Tutor Required – SEN Experience Essential

We are looking for a warm, experienced and reliable tutor to support a home-educated young person working towards GCSE qualifications.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher, retired teacher, or highly experienced GCSE tutor who enjoys building confidence, creating structure, and helping students make steady, meaningful progress.
About the Student
The student is home educated and has SEN learning needs. They benefit from patient, structured and encouraging teaching, with clear explanations, consistent routines and a focus on building both subject knowledge and confidence.
The aim is to create a positive learning environment that supports steady progress towards GCSE success.
Subjects Required
Support is needed across a range of GCSE subjects, including:
- English
- Mathematics
- History
- Biology
- Geography
- Chemistry
- Physics
Applicants do not need to teach every subject. Please clearly state which subjects you can offer and your experience teaching them at GCSE level.
What We Are Looking For
We would love to hear from someone who has:
- Experience teaching or tutoring at GCSE level
- Experience supporting SEN learners
- A patient, calm and encouraging approach
- Strong knowledge of GCSE specifications and exam requirements
- The ability to identify learning gaps and create a structured learning plan
- Good organisational skills and a reliable, professional manner
- Experience helping students develop confidence, independence and exam technique
A qualified teacher, retired teacher, or highly experienced GCSE tutor would be ideal.
Hours
- Approximately 7 hours per week initially
- Flexible scheduling by agreement
- Long-term position preferred

Remuneration
Pay is negotiable depending on qualifications, experience, and subjects offered.
