Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Roofing Labourer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will assist with various roofing projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The position involves physically demanding tasks and requires a proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems in accordance with project specifications.
- Handle and operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised roofing equipment safely and effectively.
- Support the preparation of materials and ensure proper organisation on-site to facilitate smooth workflow.
- Carry out heavy lifting of roofing materials such as tiles, shingles, insulation boards, and metal sheets.
- Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement of roofing components.
- Assist with fabrication tasks including cutting and shaping materials as required for specific projects.
- Support carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or welding tasks when necessary to complete roofing projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines whilst ensuring quality standards are upheld.
Skills
- Experience or familiarity with schematics, welding, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or fabrication is advantageous.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to roofing work.
- Previous construction or roofing experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure precise installation work.
- Strong teamwork ethic coupled with excellent communication skills.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures related to construction sites.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different project requirements.
