Key Responsibilities –
Facilitate the implementation of the setting’s outstanding ethos and curriculum, whilst providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment in which children can develop and thrive.
Job Overview –

In your staff team, deliver a programme of exciting play opportunities and activities suitable to the age range and developmental needs of the children in your care which will motivate their learning.

To ensure that a caring and stimulating environment is provided for all children, considering individual needs and enabling all children to reach their full potential.

To ensure you are kept well informed of current and updated legislation, guidelines and policy.

To support each other and engage in the development of a strong and knowledgeable staff team.

To be flexible with regard the needs of the Nursery.

To promote and ensure that the Nursery’s ETHOS is fulfilled.

To always ensure compliance with legislation.

To ensure that the Nursery consistently meets the requirements set out in the EYFS.

To uphold and ensure a high standard of care within the Nursery.

To monitor safeguarding concerns following internal policy.
Individual Accountability –

Complete observations which link to the development matters framework and characteristics of effective learning.

Keep accurate Learning Journeys on your own Key Children.

Work with parents of SEN children to support full integration within the Nursery.

Support and liaise effectively with parents and carers.
-
Record accidents and incidents as per internal procedure.
-
Involve self fully in out of working hours practices.

To always abide by the confidentiality policy.

To effectively evaluate and develop your role as a key person.

To provide comfort and warmth to all children and to ensure basic care procedures are fulfilled.

To communicate effectively with team members and always uphold professional manner.
Personnel –
-
To ensure children to staff ratios are maintained.

To support each other during induction periods.
-
Maintain accurate and up to date records for all Key Children.
-
To fully take part and be responsible for own individual action plans.

Build upon and maintain effective working relationships within the team.
Administration –
-
To prepare summative assessments and tracking information termly.

To maintain children’s records to a high standard including online journals.
-
Always ensure that Key Children’s parents are informed about their child and their learning and that new families are welcomed.
