We are seeking a motivated and skilled Generator Technician/Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on generators and mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
- Diagnose mechanical issues accurately using specialized tools and techniques, then implement effective repairs
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical components
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, ensuring minimal downtime for critical power systems
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection logs, and repair documentation for all equipment serviced
- Assist in installation and commissioning of new generator units or mechanical systems as required
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on generators or similar machinery
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and impact wrenches
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Relevant technical certifications or training in mechanical maintenance or electrical systems is preferred
