Thrive Children Services is expanding its network of face-to-face tutors across Kent to support children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education.
Working on behalf of local authorities, schools and other partners, we deliver relationship-led, one-to-one tuition for learners with SEND, SEMH, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), medical needs, exclusion and other barriers to education.
This is a flexible, self-employed opportunity delivering personalised support in homes, schools and community settings.

Key Details
- Face-to-face delivery across Kent

- Typical hours between 9:00am and 3:00pm, with some sessions running until 5:00pm
- £30/35 depending on experience.

The Role
You will:
- Deliver personalised one-to-one tuition
- Adapt learning to meet each young person's individual needs
- Build positive, consistent relationships with learners
- Support children and young people with SEND, SEMH, EBSA, medical needs and other barriers to education
- Monitor progress and provide feedback
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, local authorities and professionals
- Help rebuild confidence, engagement and educational outcomes
Requirements
We are looking for professionals who have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with children and young people with additional needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence working independently
- Ability to travel locally
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
