Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HGV class 1 walking floor driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while ensuring timely deliveries. This role involves driving walking floors nationally and there will be a variety of jobs to carry out including landfill work.4 nights out required. Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents during transit.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding safety and conduct while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Valid commercial driving licence with the necessary endorsements for operating class 1 HGVs.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
