Are you an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? A welcoming and supportive SEND Specialist School in Welwyn Garden City is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you'll support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties. Working alongside experienced teachers and therapists, you'll help pupils develop confidence, independence and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils' individual needs.
- Help pupils access learning through engaging and differentiated activities.
- Promote positive behaviour, communication and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
We're Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential.
- Experience in a SEND school, specialist setting, care or support environment.
- A patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
