Studio 48 is looking for an experienced, confident and reliable Chef to join our kitchen team as we relaunch and develop the venue.
We are looking for somebody who is comfortable taking responsibility in the kitchen, running services independently when required and maintaining consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, cleanliness and organisation.
This is not being advertised as a Head Chef position, but we do need an experienced chef who is capable of taking the lead during a shift and helping us establish strong kitchen standards.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking dishes from the Studio 48 food menu.
- Running the kitchen confidently during service.
- Following Studio 48 recipes, specifications, portion sizes and plating standards.
- Maintaining food quality and presentation across every service.
- Completing daily food preparation and mise en place.
- Managing stock rotation and following FIFO procedures.
- Monitoring stock levels and communicating ordering requirements.
- Minimising food waste and helping maintain food GP.
- Completing opening and closing kitchen procedures.
- Maintaining excellent kitchen cleanliness and organisation.
- Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures.
- Completing temperature checks and required kitchen records.
- Ensuring food is stored, labelled and dated correctly.
- Supporting the training of other kitchen team members.
- Working closely with the General Manager and FOH team.
- Helping develop an efficient and well-organised kitchen operation.
What We’re Looking For

- Has previous professional kitchen experience.
- Is confident running a kitchen/service without constant supervision.
- Can work effectively during busy services.
- Has strong food preparation and cooking skills.
- Understands food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Understands allergens and cross-contamination.
- Has good organisation and time-management skills.
- Takes pride in food presentation and consistency.
- Can follow recipes and specifications accurately.
- Understands stock control, portion control and waste reduction.
- Is reliable, punctual and professional.
- Can work evenings and weekends.
- Is comfortable working within a small kitchen environment.
- Is willing to take responsibility and help build strong kitchen standards.

About Studio 48
Studio 48 is a bar, restaurant and events venue in Camden offering cocktails, food, brunch, private hire, karaoke and late-night entertainment.
The food operation covers regular dining, weekend brunch, late-night food, events and private bookings, so we are looking for a chef who is comfortable working across different styles of service.
We want someone who can come into the kitchen, take ownership of their section and service, and help us build a consistent and professional food operation.
Pay: £14.50-£16.50 per hour
