Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic GCSE Science Teacher to support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes. The successful candidate will deliver engaging science lessons, support students with exam preparation, and create a positive and motivating learning environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about science education and committed to helping students reach their full potential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality GCSE Science lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics
- Assist students with homework, coursework, and exam preparation
- Use effective teaching strategies to improve understanding and retention of scientific concepts
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians
- Communicate with the Head of Department to report on student performance and discuss improvement strategies
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities
- Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments
- Support students with additional learning needs where required
Qualifications and Experience
- High GCSE and/or A-level grades in Science (Grade A or above preferred)
- Experience working with children, ideally in a teaching or tutoring environment
- Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) strategies is desirable
- Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential
- Strong subject knowledge of the GCSE Science curriculum
