We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Project Planner to join a major programme within Peel Ports. This is a client-facing role requiring strong stakeholder management across both client and contractor organisations. The successful candidate will be a confident, self-managing planner who can drive planning activities, challenge assumptions, initiate improvements, and provide robust project controls support throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidates with experience in ports, dockyards, marine infrastructure, construction, or other heavy industrial environments will be particularly well suited.
- Develop, maintain, monitor, and control integrated project schedules across engineering, procurement, and construction activities.

Facilitate planning workshops and collaborate with project teams to establish realistic and achievable project programmes.

Lead planning activities independently, proactively identifying issues, opportunities, and corrective actions.

Manage change control processes, schedule impacts, and programme revisions.

Coordinate with stakeholders across both client and contractor organisations to assess progress at activity, WBS, and project levels.

Produce detailed progress reports, planning summaries, and schedule performance updates for senior management and clients.

Conduct schedule assurance reviews, including DCMA assessments, schedule risk analysis, and time impact assessments.

Analyse schedule variances and support recovery planning and mitigation strategies.

Integrate resource and cost information into project schedules where required.

Support wider project controls activities, working closely with estimating, risk, and cost management teams.
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Planner with a strong track record of planning, monitoring, and controlling complex projects.

Experience within ports, dockyards, marine infrastructure, construction, industrial, or similar heavy engineering environments.

Strong understanding and practical experience of NEC3 contracts.

Experience working both client-side and contractor-side, with the ability to understand and manage competing stakeholder priorities.

Demonstrable experience leading planning activities and taking ownership of programme development, change management, and project controls processes.

Evidence of being proactive and self-starting, with the ability to initiate actions, challenge project assumptions, and drive outcomes independently.

Experience facilitating planning workshops and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.

Strong analytical capability with experience in critical path analysis, critical chain methodologies, resource levelling, earned value management, and schedule assurance.

Experience preparing and presenting schedules for governance, assurance reviews, and senior stakeholder meetings.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
