We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and baking, with a keen eye for food safety and quality. The Bakery Assistant will support daily operations, ensuring that all products meet high standards of freshness and presentation.
Duties
- Assist in preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes
- Support food preparation activities, ensuring ingredients are measured and mixed accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace in accordance with food safety regulations
- Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and proofing cabinets
- Assist with packaging finished products for sale or delivery
- Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when replenishment is needed
- Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety throughout all tasks
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food production or kitchen environments is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices within a bakery or restaurant setting
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques, particularly baking and food preparation
- Experience with food handling equipment such as mixers and ovens is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- A keen eye for detail to ensure consistent quality of baked goods
- Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions accurately
