Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs of our residents, with a special focus on senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer’s care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents by promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall wellbeing.
Duties
- Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying needs, including those requiring assisted living and specialised dementia care.
- Coordinate daily activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, outings, and recreational events that promote socialisation and cognitive engagement.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and capabilities, ensuring personalised activity plans.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, respecting their dignity and independence.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity programmes.
- Assist in organising special events or celebrations that enhance community spirit within the care home.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure activities meet individual needs and expectations.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in assisted living, nursing homes or care homes specialising in senior care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care and Alzheimer’s care principles is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with elderly residents, including those with cognitive impairments.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for older adults.
- Organised with excellent planning skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional resident care.

Pay: £24,420.00-£28,000.00 per year
