Finance Administrator – Part Time'

Life Enhancement Group provides a day service for adults aged 16+ with learning disabilities and autism.
We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Finance Administrator to take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of the company.
This is a part-time role of approximately 10–15 hours per week. We need someone who can confidently manage their own workload, recognise what needs to be done and ensure it is completed accurately and on time.
This role would suit someone who is naturally proactive, exceptionally organised and comfortable taking responsibility. You will not need to be continually directed or reminded of routine tasks. You will be expected to pick up new information, take it on board and use your own initiative to move things forward.
Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day financial administration using Xero
- Processing payroll accurately and within the required deadlines
- Creating and issuing client invoices
- Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Monitoring outstanding invoices and proactively chasing late payments
- Administering credit control and debt collection
- Processing weekly timesheets
- Managing petty cash and maintaining accurate records
- Processing bills, supplier invoices, reimbursements and staff or volunteer expense claims
- Maintaining clear records of invoices, payments and tax-related information
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies without waiting for them to be highlighted
- Monitoring company liabilities, including insurance premiums and other regular payments
- Maintaining and updating financial spreadsheets and transaction records
- Supporting budgeting, cash-flow monitoring and financial projections
- Providing accurate and timely financial information to management
- Following existing financial procedures consistently
- Reviewing current ways of working and creating effective, time-efficient processes where improvements are needed
- Ensuring new information, changes and instructions are accurately incorporated into ongoing processes
- Completing additional finance and administrative duties where reasonably required
About you
You will be someone who:
- Has strong, proven experience using Xero and can work confidently within the system
- Has proven payroll experience
- Has previous experience in a financial administration, bookkeeping or similar finance-based role
- Is a genuine self-starter who can organise and lead their own workload
- Takes full ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion
- Does not wait to be told what needs doing when regular deadlines or outstanding actions are clear
- Is confident and persistent when following up unpaid invoices or missing financial information
- Has excellent attention to detail and immediately picks up errors or discrepancies
- Can create practical and effective processes while also following established ones
- Learns quickly, retains new information and applies it going forward
- Is comfortable working independently within a busy and fast-moving organisation
- Communicates clearly and professionally by telephone and email
- Handles sensitive and confidential information with complete discretion
- Has excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Can prioritise effectively and meet deadlines without regular prompting
Essential experience
- Advanced and confident use of Xero
- Hands-on payroll experience
- Experience managing invoicing, payments and credit control
- Experience with petty cash, expenses and financial record-keeping
- Strong spreadsheet and general IT skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
