Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bar and restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food and beverage quality, maintaining safety standards, and creating a welcoming environment for guests. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all bar and restaurant staff, including bartenders, servers, and kitchen personnel.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food safety procedures to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Manage inventory levels of beverages, ingredients, and supplies; place orders as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
- Develop and implement staff training programmes focused on hospitality, service quality, and food production.
- Monitor customer service levels; address guest complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.
- Organise staff rotas to optimise coverage during peak hours while controlling labour costs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area in accordance with hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices and ensure quality products are available.
- Promote a positive team environment that encourages professional development and teamwork.
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising or managing a bar or restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary practices.
- Experience in food safety standards and food production processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Customer-focused approach with outstanding communication skills in hospitality settings.
- Knowledge of beverage service, including mixology skills (barista experience is advantageous).
- Ability to oversee kitchen operations alongside bar management responsibilities.
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality industry is desirable but not essential.
