Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for clients at our day centre in Chorley. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that cater to clients' interests and needs, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's care needs. This role is pivotal in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere and promoting social interaction among residents.
Duties
- Develop and coordinate a diverse range of activities tailored to clients' interests and abilities, ensuring inclusivity for all.
- Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and social events to encourage participation.
- Collaborate with caregivers and family to assess individual resident needs and preferences for personalised activity planning.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and gather feedback to continually improve programming.
- Ensure a safe environment for all activities by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Able to do some cooking for the clients' lunch.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage involvement.
- Provide support for residents with special needs, including those requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care.
Experience
- Previous experience in similar settings is desirable.
- A background of working in care or is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are required to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
