The Debt, Capital & Treasury Advisory team is an integral part of Deloitte's Financial Advisory practice, providing independent advice and world class execution across the full spectrum of debt markets through the Firm's global network. Deloitte Debt Advisory are a team of more than 200 debt professionals across EMEA, with ~65 the UK, making them one of the largest teams operating in the UK and almost certainly the largest globally.
In any given year, in the UK Deloitte Debt, Capital & Treasury Advisory team close c.300 transactions in the UK alone. The deal flow the team are exposed to gives them a good read on what is available within the debt markets and where best to source capital. The business has grown at roughly 20% per year every year since inception and has maintained the original ‘start-up’ mentality throughout that period.
We are seeking to expand and are always interested to speak to talented individuals with a background in debt and / or the infrastructure & energy industry and an interest in learning about debt structuring for infrastructure & energy transactions (for example the construction of renewable energy projects, port expansions, energy transition, etc).

The Infrastructure & Energy team is looking for an experienced professional to join the team at a senior level to execute transactions alongside building their network and market eminence. By joining the team at both an important stage in its growth trajectory as well as in a rapidly tech-driven and evolving credit market, you will play a key role in shaping the team’s strategy and priorities.
As well as being a central member of the Infrastructure & Energy team, you will regularly work with the broader Deloitte service lines, notably M&A Lead Advisory, Transaction Services and industry experts across the firm, utilising broader knowledge & market insight across one of the largest professional services companies globally.
Your role within this high-performance and fast-paced team will be to assist clients achieve their financing objectives which will incorporate a wide range of debt engagements including advice on optimal capital structures, negotiating new money fundraisings, refinancing and restructuring existing debt facilities. Your role will be in the Infrastructure & Energy focused team within the Debt, Capital & Treasury Advisory practice, and will be supporting both Infrastructure Corporates, Infrastructure Fund clients and their portfolio companies on debt raises.
We operate across all Infrastructure & Energy sectors across project, structured & corporate finance.
As a Senior Manager or Assistant Director in the Debt Advisory team you will be:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of debt financing processes, often across multiple projects and accountable for the engagement quality and risk management. Being a key point of contact for clients, lenders, advisers and other service lines;
- Providing knowledge of multiple debt products in order to provide best advice and execution;
- Leading and managing the delivery of high-quality transaction documentation, including the preparation of information packs, management presentations, term sheets, project finance style financing models, structuring and financial analysis and other project deliverables; Building & maintaining distinctive client relationships;
- Supporting marketing and business development activities, including seeking to originate a strong pipeline to successfully generate profitable work;
- Financial modelling, including analysing business forecasts, building cash flow forecasts, evaluating scenario analysis and covenant calculations
- Negotiating commercial terms related to debt structuring within a term sheet
- Proactively building and developing a network of internal and external relationships involved in transactions (e.g. clients such as infrastructure funds, developers, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, due diligence advisors); Introducing wider firm services to clients;
- Analysing and having a broad perspective on debt market trends, helping to lead thinking around emerging financing solutions across all capital asset classes;
- Contributing towards shaping the team’s strategic priorities as it continues to grow, including developing new market / industry knowledge, skills and points of view in changing market requirements;
- Demonstrating leadership that motivates and develops the team, supporting career progression and personal development across the team;
- Helping lead on the adoption of Deloitte approved AI tools, implementing them into day-to-day processes; and
- Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
Connect to your skills and professional experience
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Demonstrable experience working in Infrastructure or Energy sectors, most likely within an advisory capacity or in a lending capacity at a bank or credit fund, including playing a lead role in day-to-day management of projects, including preparation of information packs, management presentations, term sheets and client communications
- Demonstrable experience of project finance style modelling including experience of building, operating and reviewing financial models used for the purposes of forecasting transaction cash flows to determine ability of the transaction to achieve debt covenants and / or threshold investment returns
- Experience in debt structuring and credit analysis
- Experience of having negotiated term sheets/legal documentation
- Track record of having executed transactions & built strong client relationships
- Proven stakeholder management skills, developing close working relationships with clients, lenders and other advisors
- Proven team player with experience managing and developing talent, including leading / overseeing junior team members
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail demonstrating a capacity to both prioritise and multi-task
- Proven Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills with fluency in oral and written English
- A commitment to delivering an exceptional service to clients, with ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships
- The self-confidence/appetite to be involved in business development activities
- Professional qualification (e.g. CFA, ACA, ACT, CIMA or equivalent) would be a plus
