GLM are currently hiring for an experienced Grounds maintenance operative. You will have a good understanding of seasonal grounds maintenance and experience with a high quality finish and possess an excellent attention to detail.
Tasks include cutting grass with ride on/push mowers and strimmers; pruning shrubs and trees with shears, hedge cutters, and chainsaws (if qualified); removal of weeds with herbicide and by hand; leaf and debris collection using blowers, vacuums, and our Schmidt Road Sweeper (skills permitting).
During November to March, there is also the opportunity to carry out gritting overnight on a rota basis if desired. Hourly rate paid at time and a half plus call out fee.
You will work as part of a team carrying out high specification works on estates throughout Cambridge in a company vehicle. Hours of work will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with opportunity for overtime paid at time and a half during the week and on Saturdays if available and desired. This is a high visibility position so a friendly disposition and excellent standards of personal turnout are imperative.
Essential:
- Full clean driving licence
- Experience in grounds maintenance
- PA1 & PA6
Preferred:
- DBS
- Experience with large ride on/agricultural machinery
- Other tickets, e.g. chainsaw, forestry and arboriculture
