Join our friendly and hardworking team at The Castle Inn. We are looking for a passionate and reliable Sous Chef to help deliver high-quality food and support the day-to-day running of our busy kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Preparing and cooking food to a high standard
- Supporting menu development and daily specials
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards
- Managing stock rotation and helping to minimise waste
- Training and supporting junior kitchen staff
- Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organised, and efficient
- Taking responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
Requirements
- Previous experience in a senior chef position
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Passion for producing quality food
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
