Don't miss this rare opportunity to work as part of the Lymington Stroke Therapy service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our inpatient Stroke Therapy Team. You will provide efficient, high standard specialist rehabilitation to our stroke patients across the New Forest on the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.
The stroke therapy service uniquely covers 3 areas, including Early Supported Stroke Discharge (ESD), a 16-bed inpatient unit (8 stroke and 8 medical rehabilitation beds) and the Stroke Review Service for the whole New Forest and surrounding areas. This role is based within the Stroke inpatient ward team at Lymington New Forest Hospital.
Successful candidates will participate in our IST programme, supervision structure, service development and our weekend rota supporting our 7 day a week ESD service.
Ideally applicants will have a minimum of 2 years stroke/neuro experience, but those with less experience will be considered and there is potentially an opportunity for the role to be a developmental 5 to 6 post.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
To provide specialist Stroke therapy skills to the Stroke therapy team based on the Stroke Unit and Community Stroke Team.

To assess and treat own caseload, which may include complex presentations.
To work with patients to support them to achieve their personalised goals, optimum level of independence and quality of life. Working with the individual patient and in groups.
To maintain accurate and up to date patient records as an autonomous practitioner and in accordance with legal requirements, Trust standards and Professional Standards.
To provide supervision and education of junior colleagues, assistants and students.
To support Band 7s in daily management of the team and provision of therapy service, deputising in their absence.
To contribute to development and maintenance of an efficient and effective Stroke rehabilitation service.
If required to share the responsibility of covering a 7 day rota for ESD, and changing duties at the last minute in order to support staff leave and sickness.
