The Role
As a Mixer, you will play an important role within our production team, ensuring ingredients are prepared, weighed and mixed accurately in accordance with product recipes and specifications.
You will be responsible for producing mixes consistently and to the required quality standards while working safely and efficiently within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will assist in the efficient running of our bakery, ensuring all BRCGS, Health & Safety, Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice standards are followed at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh, measure and prepare ingredients in accordance with recipes and product specifications
- Operate mixing equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure mixes are produced to the correct consistency, quality and specification
- Follow production schedules and ensure mixes are available to meet production requirements
- Carry out manual handling of ingredients and materials
- Complete all required production, traceability and food-safety documentation accurately
- Carry out checks on ingredients, batch information and production paperwork
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic working area
- Follow allergen controls and prevent cross-contamination
- Report any quality, equipment or production issues promptly to the supervisor or manager
- Support supervisors and the wider production team to ensure daily production targets are achieved
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice at all times
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working within a food manufacturing or production environment
- Experience of mixing, weighing ingredients or following production recipes/specifications would be advantageous
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Comfortable carrying out manual handling as part of the role
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Good basic numeracy skills
- Basic PC skills
Shift pattern: Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 14:00, Friday 06:00 – 13:00
Overtime: Paid at x1.5 after 39 hours Monday – Friday and x2 for weekends
