Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Manage food production processes, including portion control and ingredient utilisation
- Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Lead team management activities, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment
- Assist in menu planning and development to reflect current trends and customer preferences
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to ensure adequate supplies are available at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Ability to work in a small kitchen alone
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Demonstrated expertise in food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates
