Mayflower Stone is a leading fabricator of Stone, quartz and sintered worktops in the South West. We are an employee owned company which benefits the employees. We are seeking a dedicated Finisher to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing products to high standards, ensuring quality and precision throughout the finishing process. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of mechanical processes. The Finisher will work closely within the finishing team to deliver finished goods that meet strict quality specifications, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our operations.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in stone finishing, however full training will be provided for the right candidate who shows the right attitude and commitment.
Responsibilities
- Hand finishing of stone worktops to a high standard
- Inspect finished items for defects or imperfections and rectify as necessary
- Apply finishing techniques such as polishing, detailing, and quality checking finished products
- Assist with assembly processes when required, ensuring components are correctly fitted and secured
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out finishing tasks on manufactured products
- Working effectively as part of a team to meet production deadlines
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Ability to follow instructions to meet deadlines
Experience
- Previous experience in stone worktops or a similar trade is preferred, but not essential
- Excellent attention to detail with a Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Familiarity with assembly processes within a manufacturing setting is beneficial
- A commitment to producing high-quality work is an essential quality for success in this role
