About the Role
We are an established, leading market making firm providing liquidity across the global STIR markets. As our business continues to grow, we are looking to expand into crypto market making and as such are looking for a motivated and analytical individual to join our trading team as a Junior Crypto and STIRs Market Maker.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in one of the fastest-growing areas of financial markets. Ideally, we are looking for someone with some knowledge of digital assets. Full in-house training will be provided.
Initially, you will work alongside our experienced daytime trading team to develop a thorough understanding of our trading strategies, systems and risk management processes. Once fully trained, you will become part of our rotating schedule covering overnight and weekend trading sessions, ensuring continuous support across the 24/7 cryptocurrency and STIR markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage cryptocurrency market making activity across multiple exchanges.
- Execute and manage trades while maintaining competitive bid and offer prices.
- Monitor market conditions, liquidity and trading risk in real time.
- Respond quickly to changing market conditions and volatility.
- Work closely with colleagues to optimise trading performance and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and follow established risk management procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and contribute to the continuous improvement of trading strategies.
About You
We're looking for someone who is analytical, disciplined and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of A-Level education (or equivalent).
- Strong mathematical ability, particularly mental arithmetic and numerical reasoning.
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency markets and digital assets.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Calm under pressure with the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, following training.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport.
- Ideally based in or around the Chelmsford area.
Desirable
- Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Some coding ability.
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency markets and digital assets.
- Interest in macroeconomics, financial markets or quantitative trading.
