Are you passionate about making a positive difference in young people's lives? A welcoming primary school in Brent is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Mentor to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs, who is looking to build a rewarding career in education.
About the Role
As a Learning Mentor, you'll work closely with pupils who need additional support to help them engage in learning, develop confidence and reach their full potential. The successful candidate will be confident supporting children with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD and speech and language needs, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions.
- Support pupils with SEN to access learning.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting.
- Confident supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Passionate about helping children succeed.
- Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
