We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Operative / Vehicle Conversion Technician to join our busy vehicle conversion team. This is a hands-on role involved in the manufacture and conversion of wheelchair accessible vehicles, helping to deliver high-quality solutions that improve mobility and independence for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle conversion and adaptation work in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Install and assemble vehicle components, including mobility equipment, flooring systems, seating, restraint systems, and access solutions.
- Perform fabrication, welding, auto-electrical, and mechanical fitting tasks as required.
- Operate workshop machinery, power tools, and equipment safely and effectively.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the conversion process to ensure all work meets company and regulatory standards.
- Identify and report defects, technical issues, or non-conformances promptly.
- Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure vehicles are completed to agreed schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records relating to work completed and materials used.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience within a vehicle conversion, automotive manufacturing, coachbuilding, engineering, fabrication, or similar environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in auto-electrics, vehicle fitting, fabrication, or welding. Relevant skills and experience will be reflected in salary.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with workshop tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Understanding of quality standards and inspection processes, ideally within an ISO 9001:2015 environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.

Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
Friday: 07:00 - 13:00
