We are looking for an experienced and organised Accounts Administrator to join our small, busy team.
This is a varied role suited to someone who is confident handling the day-to-day accounts function within a small business and is comfortable managing their own workload. Alongside accounts responsibilities, the role will also involve general office administration and supporting the wider business where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing weekly/monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Managing workplace pension submissions and associated administration
- Managing factoring and liaising with the factoring provider
- Processing supplier invoices and arranging supplier payments
- Reconciling bank accounts, supplier accounts and other financial records
- Preparing and submitting VAT information/returns
- Raising and issuing customer invoices
- Credit control and following up outstanding invoices where required
- Processing purchase invoices and maintaining accurate purchase ledger records
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
- Checking statements and resolving account queries
- Keeping financial records accurate and up to date
- Assisting with month-end accounts processes
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and external accountants where necessary
- Maintaining organised electronic and paper records
- General office administration and supporting the day-to-day running of the business
- Carrying out other reasonable accounts and administrative duties as required within a small business environment
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration role
- Has experience processing payroll
- Understands VAT, reconciliations, invoicing and supplier payments
- Is confident working independently and taking ownership of day-to-day accounts tasks
- Has excellent attention to detail and is comfortable working with figures
- Is organised and able to manage several tasks and deadlines at once
- Has good communication skills and is confident dealing with suppliers and customers
- Is comfortable working within a small business where the role can be varied
- Has good general computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Has experience using accounting software
Experience with factoring and workplace pension submissions would be particularly beneficial.
Pay: £14.50 per hour
