Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Skip Driver to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) to collect and deliver skips, ensuring efficient waste management services for our clients. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle to transport skips to various locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload skips using appropriate equipment, ensuring secure placement during transit
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly to ensure optimal vehicle performance
- Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries and collections, optimizing fuel use and reducing delays
- Communicate professionally with clients upon arrival, providing excellent customer service during drop-offs and pickups
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, mileage, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to protect yourself, colleagues, and the public at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, specifically with HGV or large vehicle operations
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving license with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with skip loading, unloading, and transportation procedures (experience with flatbed or similar vehicles is advantageous)
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality, reliability, and excellent customer interaction skills
