Job Title: Delivery & Stock Operative
Location: Cranswick Convenience Foods – Milton Keynes
Salary: £16.15 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 5am – 1pm
About the role
We're looking for a Delivery & Stock Operative to join our Site Services team at our Milton Keynes site. This is a hands-on, early-start role at the heart of our daily operations — coordinating deliveries in and out of our yard during peak times, and keeping on top of stock control and ordering for dry goods and PPE across the site.
What you'll be doing
Yard deliveries:
- Safely coordinating lorry movements across intake, dry goods, and dispatch bays
- Managing the intercom and giving clear, timely communication to drivers
- Assisting vehicles turning safely in the yard
- Keeping the Intake and Despatch teams informed of arrivals and departures
Stock & ordering:
- Managing PPE store operations and communicating stock needs
- Maintaining inventory levels and ensuring timely replacement
- Placing orders for items such as PPE, toilet paper, and wet wipes
- Processing orders correctly and receipting on the NAV system
- Processing Site Services POs (laundry, company van, etc.)
- Conducting a monthly full PPE stock take (scheduled Fridays)
General:
- Supporting wider site operations as needed
- Any other reasonable tasks requested by your line manager
What we're looking for
- IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Microsoft NAV is an advantage, but not essential
- Experience in a similar role is an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A good understanding of basic food hygiene and health & safety principles
- Good literacy and numeracy, with the ability to write and speak in English
- Reliable, punctual, and a good team player
- A flexible, hands-on approach — happy to adapt to the changing needs of the site
