Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accounts Apprentice role based in Cranbrook. The Accounts Apprentice will assist with bookkeeping tasks, data entry, and maintaining accurate financial records for a range of clients. Daily activities may include supporting the preparation of accounts, assisting with bank reconciliations, processing invoices, and helping compile documentation for accounts and tax returns under supervision. The role will involve working closely with experienced accountants to learn firm procedures, accounting standards, and relevant software packages. The Accounts Apprentice will also be expected to participate in training towards a relevant professional qualification, contribute to team projects, and provide administrative support where required.
Qualifications
- Foundational numerical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately with financial data.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients.
- Basic IT proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and willingness to learn accounting software.
- Organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy office environment.
- Genuine interest in accountancy and business, with a desire to develop a long-term career in professional services.
- Willingness to undertake formal study toward an accounting qualification (e.g., AAT or equivalent), supported by the firm.
- This opportunity would be well suited to a recent school leaver with strong A-level results.
- Positive, proactive attitude, openness to feedback, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Pay: From £15,600.00 per year
