About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded UK Operations & Business Development Lead to take ownership of our UK operations while also helping drive business growth.
This is a varied role combining operational leadership, team management and business development.
The successful candidate will oversee the day to day performance of our florist operation, build and improve operational processes, support the development of the team and ensure consistently high standards across the business.
Alongside the operational responsibilities, you will take ownership of the UK business development pipeline, develop new partnerships, support existing commercial opportunities and proactively identify new areas for growth.
We are ideally looking for someone with previous experience within floristry operations who understands how a florist team operates and the challenges involved in delivering a high quality, fast paced service.
You do not necessarily need to be a practising florist, but you should have a strong understanding of floristry operations and be comfortable leading and developing a florist team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Lead and oversee the day to day UK florist operation.
- Provide leadership, direction and support to the florist team.
- Take ownership of team performance, productivity, quality and operational standards.
- Build, document and continuously improve operational processes and ways of working.
- Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
- Ensure the team has the right structure, tools, training and support to perform effectively.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development of operational team members.
- Monitor operational performance and introduce clear KPIs and reporting where required.
- Work closely with the Country Manager and wider business to ensure operational priorities are aligned with company objectives.
- Maintain strong standards around health and safety, compliance and company procedures.
Business Development
- Manage and develop existing business development opportunities.
- Take ownership of the UK business development pipeline.
- Proactively identify new clients, partnerships and commercial opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with prospective customers, partners and key stakeholders.
- Develop new partnerships that support revenue growth and strengthen our position within the UK market.
- Conduct market research to identify new sectors, opportunities and areas for expansion.
- Manage opportunities from initial introduction through to proposal, negotiation and conversion.
- Maintain clear visibility of the business development pipeline and provide regular updates on progress and opportunities.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure new commercial opportunities can be successfully delivered.
Commercial Growth
- Develop a strong understanding of the UK market and identify opportunities for continued growth.
- Bring forward new ideas and initiatives that could improve revenue, customer experience or operational performance.
- Support the development of proposals, presentations, pricing and commercial discussions.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing client and partner relationships
- Represent the business at relevant meetings, networking opportunities and industry events where appropriate.
- Provide regular updates to the Country Manager on operational performance, commercial activity and future opportunities.
About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within floristry operations or a closely related environment.
- Experience managing and developing operational teams.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience within business development, partnerships, sales or commercial growth.
- A proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and external partners.
- Strong operational problem solving skills.
- Experience building or improving processes and ways of working.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence working independently and taking responsibility for results.
- The ability to balance operational priorities with longer term commercial objectives.
- Experience monitoring KPIs and using performance information to make decisions.
- A hands on and adaptable approach, with the willingness to support the wider business when required.

Pay: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
