Role Overview
Position: Warehouse Supervisor
Working Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00–20:00
This is a hands-on supervisory role within a small family-run logistics business. The Warehouse Supervisor will support the day-to-day running of warehouse operations, supervise warehouse staff, maintain stock flow and accuracy, assist with picking processes, and help ensure Health & Safety standards are upheld. The role requires a proactive, organised individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. The Warehouse Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager and work closely with transport and office teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all inbound and outbound goods, including loading and unloading activities
- Coordinate daily warehouse workflow and assist with dispatch manifests
- Support and guide warehouse operatives, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently
- Maintain stock accuracy, storage layout, rotation, and traceability
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness, hygiene standards, and safe working practices are maintained
- Support Health & Safety compliance, including inspections, incident reporting, PPE checks, and following company procedures
- Assist with staff rotas, holiday planning, and providing cover during absences
- Support and oversee picking processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and customer deadlines are met
- Liaise with office staff, transport teams, and drivers regarding operational priorities and load progress
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and report suggestions to management
- Provide hands-on support during busy periods, including picking, loading, and unloading activities
Skills & Attributes Required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a warehouse, logistics, or supervisory/team leader role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience supervising teams within a warehouse environment
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
- Effective communication skills with both warehouse and office teams
- Physically capable of carrying out manual handling and working within a cold-store environment
- Calm and solution-focused approach when working under pressure
- Ability to support, motivate, and guide team members
- Capable of managing priorities and working independently when required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £33,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
