Overview
Due to our increased occupancy in September, we are seeking a passionate and energetic Playworker - Level 2 to join our vibrant team dedicated to providing a safe, fun and engaging environments for children. In this role, you will be instrumental in planning and delivering fun-filled activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development in a nurturing setting. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a positive atmosphere where children feel valued, inspired, and motivated to explore their interests. Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate a variety of fun, stimulating activities tailored to children’s age groups and interests, encouraging creativity, social interaction and teamwork.
- Ability to adapt activities based on children's interests and developmental stages.
- Supervise children during play, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Ensure the play environment is clean, safe, and well-organised by conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
- Support children’s individual needs, including those with special requirements or additional support needs.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment focused on the children's enjoyment, assisting with the organisation of daily routines such as snack times, indoor & outdoor play, art & craft activities .
- Keep accurate records of children's attendance and any incidents that may occur during play sessions.
Qualifications
- Level 2 in Playwork or Early years & Childcare
- Previous experience desirable, although applications from recently qualified are welcomed
- Strong knowledge of the Playwork Principles and best practices in play-based settings.
- Enhanced DBS (on update service)
- Paediatric First Aid
- Food Safety Level 2
Additional training will be provided where necessary to meet Ofsted requirements.
Person Specification
Excellent communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
A genuine passion for supporting children with their play and the ability to create an inclusive atmosphere for all children.
