Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, time-served Painter and Decorator to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction painting, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, ranging from residential to commercial properties, ensuring surfaces are beautifully and durably finished. A valid driving licence and excellent communication skills are essential for effective coordination across sites. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paints and finishes, and maintaining safety standards throughout all tasks.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion of paints and coatings
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision and care
- Decorate interior and exterior surfaces according to specifications, including walls, ceilings, woodwork, and fixtures
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality whilst adhering to health and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any potential issues
- Maintain a clean work environment by tidying tools and disposing of waste responsibly
- Assist in colour matching and selecting appropriate materials for various projects as required
- Follow project timelines efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail throughout each phase of work
Experience
- Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Extensive knowledge of construction painting techniques and decorating methods
- Valid driving licence is preferred for site access and material transportation
- Fluency in English with excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments
- Familiarity with health & safety procedures relevant to painting and decorating activities
