Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety and preparation, with a flair for creating delicious meals that delight our guests. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards while maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
- Assist in meal preparation and presentation, ensuring dishes are visually appealing and served promptly.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
- Help develop new menu items and seasonal offerings that reflect current culinary trends.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary to maintain stock.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any maintenance issues to management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef/Cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
- Excellent cooking skills with the ability to prepare diverse cuisines.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation.
- A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continually improve skills and knowledge within the industry.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
