About the Role
An exciting full-time opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll and Finance Manager to join a leading manufacturing company and its sister companies in Sheffield.
Working alongside the CFO and existing finance team, the Payroll and Finance Manager will provide support across all aspects of the finance function, while also taking responsibility for payroll and supporting key HR processes.
We are looking for an experienced, organised and highly accurate individual to join our growing and dynamic team. The role offers potential for future advancement.
Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll & HR
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Ensure all HMRC-related administration is processed efficiently and appropriately.
- Manage all aspects of the company workplace pension.
- Manage all aspects of payrolling benefits in kind.
- Support recruitment, selection and interviewing of staff.
- Process all new starter administration.
- Carry out the new starter onboarding process and assist with employee lifecycle administration, including leavers.
- Manage the time clock and HR software systems and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Support formal meetings relating to various employee relations cases.
- Support HR-related projects as and when required.
Finance & Accounts
- Help manage the companies' finance function, ensuring accounts are accurate, compliant and up to date.
- Have a working knowledge of Xero accounting software.
- Help prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Help raise and process sales and purchase invoices.
- Help reconcile bank accounts and sales/purchase ledgers.
- Help provide weekly payment lists for the payment of purchase invoices.
- Support the sales ledgers, credit control and debt collection.
- Support the monthly management accounting function.
Person Specification
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous payroll management experience.
- Knowledge of employment law and employment regulations.
- Experience of HR management.
- Experience of workplace pension administration.
- Experience using Xero accounting software.
- Knowledge of VAT and company accounting procedures.
- A high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make and respond to email and telephone enquiries promptly.
- Candidates should be Sheffield-based or able to commute reliably to Sheffield.
