Weldrite (Midlands)Limited are a market leading manufacturing organization within the materials handling sector. We are looking to recruit a self motivated skilled and reliable Laser Operative at our Kingswinford site. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting machines to ensure timely and precise manufacturing of metal parts according to our product specifications.
This job will be based across two sites Kingswinford and Bilston.
Duties
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines to produce precise parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Adjust machine parameters and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal performance.
- Handle materials safely using appropriate tools and materials handling techniques.
- Identify and report machine malfunctions or process issues promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized and hazard free workspace.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments with familiarity in laser operation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read CAD drawings and technical schematics.
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine setup and troubleshooting.
- Skilled in using SolidWorks or similar CAD software for interpreting design files.
- Knowledge of tooling, welding, milling, and assembly processes within a manufacturing setting.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments.
- Experience with materials handling, warehouse operations, or inventory management is a plus.
- Ability to work safely with hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols.
