Front Desk Role (Maternity Cover)
We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic & well-presented Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face as part of the central hub of our Estate. This is a part-time maternity cover position working within a small team and communicating daily with staff across other departments.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Warmly greet guests on arrival and manage efficient check-in/out procedures.
- Handle guest requests and relay them to appropriate departments.
- Manage phone calls, emails, and take reservations both in person and by phone.
- Process payments and cash transactions accurately, and complete end-of-day reconciliation.
- Maintain a tidy, organised reception and use booking systems confidently.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
- Deliver excellent customer service and always maintain a professional appearance.
- Be reliable, flexible with working hours, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Possess strong communication, organisation, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Remain calm under pressure and ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Respect guest confidentiality and show a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Basic knowledge of local attractions and amenities is an advantage.
- Fluent English required.
Whilst previous experience in a similar role would be desirable, we provide comprehensive training to ensure all team members are fully equipped to succeed. What matters most is a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, as these qualities are valued above prior experience.
Hours of Work
This is a part-time position with a minimum of 25 hours per week. The role includes shift work across both mornings and evenings, with weekend shifts also required. Example shifts include 7.30am – 3.00pm and 3.00pm – 10.00pm. The estate remains open during the festive period. Wherever possible, we aim to offer flexibility in shift planning to accommodate the needs of the right candidate. Rotas are prepared 4 weeks in advance.
Additional hours may be available during holiday periods or to cover other team members’ annual leave.
